Brain Electrical Activity Mapping:

Brain Electrical Activity Mapping (BEAM) is a computerized non-invasive one hour long testing method which was developed at Harvard University less than fifteen years ago. The BEAM test has revolutionized how physicians evaluate patient's brain dysfunction in a way previously unavailable. While CT and MRI testing only provide information on the structure and anatomical aspects of the brain, BEAM analyzes the electrophysiological status of the brain in a non-invasive manner.

Brain Electrical activity mapping or BEAM, uses simple electrodes similar to those used in an EEG, to provide a complete assessment of the brain's functional status. In order to prevent or reverse aging, we need to control and enhance the electrical signals that are sent from the brain to the body. The four measurements that determine the relationship between brain function and the creation and delivery of human electricity to the body include power, rhythm, speed and symmetry which assess voltage, synchrony, memory and balance of the brain respectively.

Latest medical studies suggest that the brain can be taught to reignite your hormone systems and actually resurrect the aging body. By regulating and balancing the brain with medications, natural hormones, supplements, diet and lifestyle changes we can delay -or possibly even stop- the premature aging of the brain or body. It is a simple principle: by restoring your brain chemistry you will restore your health

Hormonal Corrective Therapy:

Hormonal Corrective Therapy
Our hormones do not decline because we age; we age because our hormones decline. Hormones play many important roles in the health and maintenance of the body, including influencing the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins, fats, minerals, and water. They also regulate DNA and RNA production and the subsequent synthesis of cell proteins, are involved in the production of enzymes, and influence the energy production of mitochondria (microscopic structures present in every cell, responsible for converting proteins, carbohydrates, and fats into energy or ATP). In addition, hormones regulate the body's response to stress, kidney function, blood sugar balance, menstruation, and sexual function. As we age, however, hormone production in the body declines. Since hormones affect virtually every bodily process, low levels of certain hormones and impaired communication within the endocrine system creates havoc with all other body systems, including the immune, cardiovascular, detoxification, gastrointestinal, and nervous systems. "A loss of hormonal balance, as occurs with aging, plays a predominant role in mental and emotional symptoms and in all illness. Restoration of this balance is ideally achieved through natural hormone corrective therapy.

Nutritional deficiencies, lack of exercise, and exposure to toxins, can all result in changes in hormone production that can ultimately lead to diminished biological functioning. Stress can also seriously impact hormone production.

Other factors that can contribute to hormonal imbalances include endocrine disorders, malnutrition, sleep disorders, exposure to electromagnetic fields (EMFs), lack of sunlight, hypothyroidism, insulin resistance, and the use of over-the-counter and prescription medications. Bioidentical hormones are manufactured to have the same molecular structure as the hormones made by your own body. By correcting and balancing your body with naturally identical hormones you can restore your body functions and optimize your health.

At the younger You Institute, we offer our patients with an individualized approach. We begin with laboratory tests of hormone levels (a so-called "hormone panel"). We then prescribe a precise dosage of bioidentical estrogen, testosterone or DHEA that is made up at a compounding pharmacy. Each patient is then monitored carefully and periodically through regular follow-up hormone panels to ensure we get symptom relief at the lowest possible dosage.

Aesthetic Medicine:

Aesthetic Medicine
According with the International Association for Physicians in Aesthetic Medicine (IAPAM) Aesthetic Medicine is a branch of medicine focused on satisfying the aesthetic desires and goals of patients. This specialty is primarily focused on the pathophysiology of aging skin, and adheres to scientific based procedures. Physicians practicing Aesthetic Medicine are trained in both invasive and non-invasive treatment modalities, and typically utilize a combination to meet the needs of the patientAesthetic medicine is a rapidly growing specialty that employs office-based procedures to enhance patients' satisfaction with their appearance. Patients not only want to be in good health, they also want to enjoy life to the fullest, be fit and have great looks. The demand for these procedures has increased with and aging population, as well ass with the advent of successful minimally invasive techniques that are affordable, and require no down time.

This recent trend explains the current success of Aesthetic Medicine around the world. Among these non-surgical aesthetic procedures are:

  • Injections of Botulinum Toxin A (BOTOX® Cosmetic )
  • Use of Facial Fillers for Aesthetic Enhancement
  • Lasers and Light Based Devices
  • Use of Chemical Peeling Agents
  • Medical Cosmetology, etc.
These procedures coincide with the busy lifestyle of many patients who seek an improvement in appearance that does not interfere with their professional, social or personal obligations

Adult Stem Cell Collection:

Adult Stem Cell Collection
By partnering with NeoStem, a leader in the field of adult stem cell technology, we offer adult stem cell collection services to provide you with the means to collect and store your own adult stem cells (ASCs). Your Cells. Your Use. Your Life. Your stem cells can be used to alter the course of certain chronic diseases that commonly affect adults such as: diabetes mellitus, coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, Parkinson's disease, autoimmune disorders, chronic wounds, and others.

New uses for ASCs in nonmyeloablative procedures have been the subject of clinical inquiry for a number of years and are finding applications in the exciting field of Regenerative Medicine. It is widely accepted that ASCs derived from peripheral blood, bone marrow, cord blood and other sources are self-renewing and can generate differentiated cell progenitors of different lineages. Adult stem cells have been safely used in humans for over 30 years.

NeoStem's innovative cell banking technology, do not require the rigorous ablation of the patient's bone marrow; myelosuppression is not required when using ASCs in regenerative medicine.

When using ASCs to treat certain chronic conditions, peripheral stem cells are collected in a safe, noninvasive procedure during the time when you are in a good state of health. The stem cells are frozen and stored, then injected or infused into the body at some future point to regenerate diseased tissue in the presence of chronic illness.

Energy Medicine (ONDAMED):

Energy Medicine (ONDAMED)
ONDAMED® is an electromagnetic frequency device that offers a highly specific biophysical analysis and application based on electromagnetic inductivity. A practitioner rapidly scans the body's preferences, determines interference fields, and simultaneously delivers the frequencies that each individual requires to move towards homeostasis, thus creating a 'balance'.

It is a comprehensive system that integrates frequencies of sound and color with those outside the range of human sensation. During an ONDAMED® session, you may experience a mild tingling sensation, a feeling of release or nothing at all. Reports of feeling relaxed, refreshed and being able to think more clearly are common. ONDAMED® can be used independently or in conjunction with any existing therapies or modalities you may be using. You may respond faster and better with your existing therapies or modalities when combined with ONDAMED®.

Patients and practitioners using ONDAMED® frequencies have reported benefits on all levels of well-being: physical, emotional, and mental. ONDAMED® is a very useful tool on the cutting edge of mind-body medicine, rejuvenation and psychoneuroimmunology.

Diagnostic Testing:

Diagnostic Testing
We offer comprehensive anti-aging laboratory profiles with testing services provides through Age Diagnostic Laboratories (ADL) focusing on hormones and other key bio-markers of physiological aging.

ADL's scientific and medical staff, long-time leaders in anti-aging medicine, assist physicians through structured education and peer to peer counseling programs and provide guidance with their easy to read reports that include practical interpretations and treatment options. ADL have the key advantage of having implemented the latest generation of technology and equipment available. They offer standardization of anti-aging lab tests, gender related reference ranges and is ABAAM accredited.

Nutritional Education:

Nutritional Education
Nutritional counseling covers a wide range of assessments and philosophies regarding the quality of nutrition in a diet. Nutritionists offer education in nutritional facts, eating habits, nutrients, allergies, and weight loss. They work with individuals to develop dietary patterns that suits their lifestyle as well as their needs.

Reflexology:

Reflexology
Reflexology is a science which deals with the principle that there are reflex areas in the feet and hands which correspond to all of the glands, organs and parts of the body. Stimulating these reflexes properly can help improve your health in a natural way, a type of preventative maintenance. Reflexology is a serious advance in the health field and should not be confused with massage. Specific protocol for anti-aging purposes is currently implemented in our practice.

Chelation Therapy:
The word chelation is derived from the Greek word chele that means claw (like that of a scorpion or crab). The concept of chelation is based on the observation that when a certain amino acid complex called EDTA (ethylene-diamine-tetra-acetic acid) comes in contact with certain positively charged metals and other substances such as lead, iron, copper, calcium, magnesium, zinc, plutonium and manganese, it grabs them (hence the chele or claw), and removes them. Chelation therapy is the process of removing from the body the undesirable ionic material by the infusion, or taking orally, of an organic compound which has suitable chelating properties.

Chelation therapy is widely used for the treatment of atherosclerosis and other chronic degenerative diseases involving the circulatory system. It also has other benefits. Many scientists suggest that the beneficial effect of chelation treatment is from the removal of metallic catalysts that causes excessive free radical proliferation. This reduces the oxidation of lipids, DNA, enzyme systems and lipoproteins. The chelation halts the bad effects and initiates the body's healing process, often reversing the damage. Chelation is also used as a preventative intervention to reverse the processes leading to aging diseases such as cardiovascular disorders, cancer, Alzheimer's and other neurodegenerative disorders
